working portrait, water girl

David and I have been working on a new portrait together. I love collaborating with David because he has strengths that I could never posses, and with our powers combined, we are Captain Planet! Or just really freakin’ awesome at arting. I have been sketching in my new moleskin book recently and I’ll be posting more artwork to bypass my bloggers-block.

By the way, those of you who wanted to participate in my scuba bee contest, you are breaking my heart. I’ll keep the contest going for a while longer to give you guys time, how about a month. I would really love to give my old paintings away, they do no good gathering dust in my garage.

Now for some art: My initial sketch for the portrait.

David’s perfect interpretation of my sketch into a flawless line drawing.

My coloring work, this is the part of a painting that makes my heart swell and sets everything right in the world.

do you have any idea how awesome it would be to own a piece of your work? I was going to enter the bee pic, but I’ve been a little busy with promo pieces and thinking about the CA Annual. If you have the time, could you check out my portfolio and let me know your opinion or Top 4 pieces you think I should consider for CA? I would really appreciat your input.

PS – tell David that I want to kill him for the lights and little building in the background alone…too talented.

Stu, sure! I’ll take a look at your portfolio.

Elysa, I would love to just paint all day, but it’s difficult finding enough clients that can afford my work for me to quit working as a designer. But, David and I have been doing more portraits recently, and we will soon launch our portrait studio site live. We hope that with the site we can do a lot more marketing which will develop into a lot more clients.

Miss A, I’m so excited to see your scuba bee!

That is seriously beautiful. Can I hire you to come to Brooklyn and paint murals on my walls?

    Oh wait, I rent… nevermind…

Froggy, that’s what paintings in frames are for! I think murals are really awesome though. The boyfriend doesn’t agree though, and won’t let me paint one on our walls.
