I successfully drove David crazy on Sunday. I’ve been needing a trim to shape up and thin out my locks, but I thought I might want to go much shorter instead. This started a long debate whether or not I looked better with short hair or long hair. David claimed that both short and long hair looked good on me. This was sweet, but drove me mad, because one has to be inferior on my face shape in some way. They can’t both work perfectly.
I am still not 100% sure if I want to cut my hair short. I like my long hair, it’s pretty, but is short hair prettier? more unique? will it make me look more mature and sophisticated? I’ve had short hair for most of my life, so it’s comfortable for me. Should I wait to cut it until I am totally tired of my long hair? Or go ahead already with a short bob? I have never been so worried about a haircut before, I’m always the person who says “who cares, it’s just hair, it will grow back”.

I think Katie Holmes has very similar hair to mine, and she had it about the length of mine (my hair can make boob curtains now) until she cut it to a cute bob. I love that bob. Now if only I had her little chin and nice cheekbones and nose, I’d be set.

Katie Holmes is gorgeous and definitely has great hair. Nice photo hair journal, haha.
Luckily, I’m still totally that girl whose all “it’s hair, it will grow back. So maybe I’m not the one to advise you? I say change is good! Do it!

Honestly, you look fine either way. BUT your face can pull off short amazingly well. I love the top right shot of you looking down and laughing. That hair. Because if I could pull it off, I’d have chopped off mine a looong time ago.

Nicole, that’s what my boyfriend says, “Change is good!”
Lisa, thanks, I like how freeing short hair feels.
Rachel, it does take a lot of straightening and smoothing. My hair is naturally wavy so especially when it’s short it likes to flip in all kinds of directions.
Thanks, Lisa! You’re beautiful!

I was actually going to suggest the bob. I worked wonders on me, and I have really curly hair! It was cute, curly or straight. I think it would fit your face nicely. I think you would have to go longer though, becuase you have more of a oval face and she has a round face. Just a suggestion :)

I’m jealous of your long hair right now so I think you should keep it. I’m also the wrong person to tell you what to do because I have never tried short hair!

I was dealing with the same question a couple of days back. Long hair is always nice, till you get bored with it, that is. And you do, I know you do, and then you crave for a change any change. So if you are extremely bored of wearing the same hair day after day, by all means go ahead and have it chopped. Its only hair, its got just one job in life, that of growing.
Personally I think you look wonderful either way.

hey… your long hair is gorgeous! but if you definitely want to go the chop, i think the chin-length do is the best of the short bunch.

I love love LOVE Katie’s new short hair. Within the past year, I have been cutting mine shorter and shorter to the point that it’s almost as short as that last picture. I was so tired of it being so long and the short was a good change, so I say go for it! Chop it off! Like old Tina and I say, it’s just hair. It’ll grow back. :)

Oooh I love the long hair! I’ve been trying to grow my hair long for a while now. I am jealous of yours. Then again, I think the picture of you with your shorter hair pulled back with the black flower clip is really cute. I say go for chin-length and if you regret it later, it won’t take too long to grow it out again. Whatever you decide, it will look great!

Katie needed a cut to freshen her look. On you, though, long hair is romantic and pretty. I say stay with your current cut.

David Poe Says:
I vote to cut it.
I think that we all need variation in our lives, and while there are extremes, I do not think that just a cut to the hair is one of them. I think that your largest concern - if the short hair will be better than the long hair - will come down to what you do with it and what your attitude is about it.If you go in thinking that you will not like it…
Try to stay poitive; if it turns out it’s not AS nice, let it grow back out.-David
